Job Description:
We are looking for skilled and hardworking Male Butchers to join reputable catering companies and large-scale food service providers in Australia. The role involves cutting, trimming, deboning, and preparing various types of meat (beef, mutton, chicken) according to company and client specifications. Candidates must have strong slaughtering skills, knowledge of meat handling hygiene, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, portion, and prepare meat according to required specifications
- Debone meat efficiently and safely
- Operate knives, saws, and cutting equipment with accuracy
- Inspect meat quality and ensure proper storage temperatures
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the butchery area
- Follow food safety regulations and HACCP standards
- Assist in receiving, weighing, and organizing meat stock
- Reduce wastage through proper cutting and handling techniques
- Work with kitchen and catering teams to meet daily production demands
- Follow all safety guidelines when handling equipment and sharp tools
Job Requirements:
- Valid Passport (minimum 1-year validity)
- Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certificate of Good Conduct / Police Clearance
- Full-size Clear Photo (white or light background)
- Good English communication skills (basic level)
- Must be male, aged 20–39 years
- Medically fit and able to work in cold rooms/chill environments
- Proven experience as a butcher in restaurants, supermarkets, or catering companies
- Strong knowledge of meat cutting, deboning, and portioning
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy items
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends
- Willingness to do an internal interview and training with us
Additional Advantages (Not Mandatory):
- Experience working in slaughter houses
- Knowledge of halal meat handling procedures
- Certification in food safety or HACCP or Kenya Meat Commission
- Ability to work quickly and accurately during peak periods
